Composer's Note

Protocol has an atmosphere that can feel nostalgic to some from sci-fi classics like star trek: Next Generation, Alien, THE FLY, AND INDEPENDENCE DAY. WHEN PHIL SHARED THE SCRIPT FOR THIS PODCAST, I KNEW I WASN'T GOING TO SAY 'NO' TO THIS.  THE STORY OF THE PILOT EPISODE FOCUSES ON MYSTERIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES LEADING TO THE DEATH OF A VALUED CREW MEMBER OF THE ELEGUA IV. THE CREW IS ON An exodus MISSION to find a new planetary solar system to inhabit and preserve what is left of humanity. While this episode does not particularly focus on the stakes that lead to seeking a new planet, it focuses on a mysterious yet catastrophic 'incident' that resulted in the death of Jonic Ibarra, the ship's biomechanical engineer. The structure of the episode was a recount of the events as it was recorded by the ship's AI mainframe, DALS.
